Welcome to another children’s choir adventure post! This is becoming a Friday regular, isn’t it? If you remember, we’re starting off the year in Africa, then traveling to the Navajo Nation in November (I updated both of these posts this week with a few video clips that I found). For December, we’re going to France!
SONG LIST (chosen from the following):
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (UMH #211)
He Is Born (UMH #228)
*Sing We Now of Christmas (UMH #237)
Angels We Have Heard on High (UMH #238)
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence (NCH #345)
*Hymn of the Month

I just came across this beautiful prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson. It will be perfect for our Christmas rehearsals!
PRAYER: A Christmas Prayer – partial (Stevenson)
Loving Father,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate
and open the door of love
all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift
and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. AMEN.

The passport stamp for December looks like this:

The Scripture of the Month corresponds with the celebration of the season:
SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 67:4
“Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For you shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth.”

Rick Steves has a great video tour of Christmas in Paris on YouTube. I think I’ll show a few clips during our December rehearsals…
