
Are you “oo-ing” and “ah-ing” yet? This beautiful array of dyed paper cards is from this romantic wedding [photography by Jose Villa]. They were used as escort cards [calligraphy by neithersnow]. I particularly love the visual effect – a splash of watercolor.

As much as I may love the idea, the DIY tutorial is a little involved. See for yourself. Though relatively inexpensive and easy, it was an idea I filed away as “whimsical and elegant,” and “if only I had more time.” You can imagine my delight when I read this post on Once Wed yesterday – a DIY tutorial for paint chip escort cards!

Watercolor effect? Check. Fast and easy? Check. Inexpensive? Free! I think we’ll do this for our rehearsal dinner – maybe shades of white, ivory, and ecru and pinned to a board like this one from Pottery Barn:
